Subject To Experience, M1-M6 Plus SEN Allowance

Hours

• 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
• Plus 3 training days during school holidays

What The Teacher Role Involves

• To meet the Teachers' Standards, which set the minimum requirements for a teacher's conduct and practice.
• To work within the policies and guidance of Doucecroft School as an effective and motivational professional who is ambitious for learners and challenges and supports both staff and pupils to achieve their best.
• To provide high-quality education and care for secondary-aged pupils with autism and additional needs.
• To plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated learning at secondary level, ensuring lessons and activities are adapted to meet the individual needs, abilities and interests of each learner.
• To use strong subject knowledge and creative teaching approaches to engage learners and support progress within the school's agreed curriculum.
• To assess, monitor and record pupils' progress, using this information to inform future planning and ensure appropriate levels of challenge and support.
• To support the development of pupils' personal, social and independence skills, helping to prepare young people for adulthood and their next steps in education, training or employment.
• To provide appropriate challenge for young people within a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues and all areas of the school's multidisciplinary team to provide consistent and individualised support for each learner.
• To take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and management of the classroom, including learners, staff and the physical environment. This will include working with learners at lunchtime and supervising break times where required.
• To adhere to the autism accreditation framework, ensuring appropriate strategies and support are embedded into teaching and learning for each pupil.
• To comply with and promote the school's policies and procedures, particularly those relating to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.
