The Role
The Trust are looking to appoint a full-time Teacher from January 2027, subject to a successful six-month probationary period.
- Position is based at Summerdown School but candidates should be aware they may be required to work on any of the Trust’s sites.
- Summerdown is an all-through school for children and young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
- The paid hours of work are 32.5 (full-time hours).
- The salary range is Main Teacher Pay Scale plus a SEN Allowance of £2,885 per annum.
About You
The Southfield Trust is looking to appoint an excellent, self-motivated and inspirational class teacher who is committed to a pupil-centered approach to learning and who are dedicated to creating exciting, purposeful and challenging learning opportunities.
The successful candidates will be:
- A qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS status.
- Innovative, creative and passionate about what they do for each individual learner.
- Able to contribute towards developing the independence, communication and self-regulation of each individual learner.
- Committed to working with parents / carers, and other professionals resulting in the best possible life outcomes and future opportunities.
- Collaborative in their approach towards supporting the wider work of the school and Trust.

Applications are encouraged from applicants with experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs or who may have some experience but more than anything, a willingness to learn through collaborative working with other skilled staff.
