We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher to enhance our students' experience and progress. The successful candidate will be teaching our young people who present with learning needs and behaviours related to SEMH issues, ADHD, ASD, and other complex needs. The ideal candidate will hold QTS and be able to develop the curriculum and teach students in Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 appropriate to the needs and aspirations of our cohort.
The successful candidate will take on additional responsibilities of SENDCo and Exams Officer at Telford School.

About The School
Aspris Telford School is an independent day school, located in an attractive semi-rural setting just a short walk from the historic town of Ironbridge. Ours is a small school with a big heart. Members of our team are all committed to providing a positive and nurturing experience to our students, most of whom have had very negative experiences of school before coming to us.
You will deliver a full-time teaching timetable covering a variety of ages and stages, and working effectively with students with a variety of needs including ASC.
You will contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources to ensure excellent quality of provision for our young people.

What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivery of engaging lessons for all students
- Creating bespoke lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and interests
- Preparing high-quality teaching resources and supporting non-specialist teachers with effective delivery
- Assessing student progress and contribute to reporting outcomes
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and wellbeing
- Providing pastoral support to a small tutor group
Additional Responsibilities Of SENDCo And Exam Officer Will Include
- Ensuring that the school is compliant with all JCQ and exam board requirements & regulations
- Undertaking all required training and to ensure that other colleagues are signposted to appropriate training related to exam administration
- Managing registrations, assessment planning, internal verification, external verification and moderation processes and claims for Functional Skills and BTEC qualifications
- Overseeing procedure in the administration of examinations at the school
- Undertaking the role of Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) for all statutory purposes, including Annual Reviews.
- Monitoring the quality of SEN support by establishing effective systems to identify and meet the needs of students, whilst ensuring that the systems are coordinated, implemented, evaluated, and regularly reviewed.
- Supporting our current SENDCo
- Ensuring effective systems of communication, including feedback about student’s learning to inform future planning,
- Being accountable for the timetabling of appropriate support and intervention for students with SEN, considering resources and the needs of individuals and updating timetables and provision maps as appropriate throughout the academic year,
- Analysing and tracking student progress using appropriate assessments, data, and records,
- Ensuring that regular meetings are held to evaluate progress of all students with special needs,
- Providing direction, training and support for staff working with students with SEN including ASD, PDA, and ADHD.
- Acting as the Designated Teacher for CLA, attending PEPs and CLA reviews throughout the year and recording relevant data in preparation for these meetings.

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher and ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN.
