Teaching and Learning Assistant

The Governors of Melbourne Infant and Nursery School wish to appoint a Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will work within one of our KS1 classes; working closely with the class teachers to plan and deliver teaching activities and assessments, as well as prepare learning resources. You will also be required to undertake other classroom duties to support the class teachers and be able to work co-operatively within a team.

We are looking for someone with the confidence and ability to be able to motivate and support the children within the classroom. Our children would love to hear from you if you are friendly, kind and fun!

Requirements

  • Have experience working with primary school aged children
  • Have a calm and caring nature
  • Hold, or are working towards, a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Working Pattern

The working pattern for this role will be 6 hours 30 minutes per week; 8.45am-12 noon Thursdays and Fridays.

We also have a vacancy for a qualified Teaching Assistant working 7 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, until August 2027. Candidates are very welcome to apply for both positions should they wish; however, applications for one position only are also very welcome.
