Job Description

Teaching Assistant 1:1

Dilkes Academy is looking to recruit a new colleague to join the Teaching Assistant team.

  • Working weeks: Term-time Only (38 weeks per year)
  • Salary: Thurrock Band TLW/A -FTE £24,520 to £25,664 actual £18,506 to £19,369
  • Hours per week: 32:50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

We work together to widen access to outstanding educational provision by supporting and empowering all staff to develop remarkable teaching and achievement outcomes.

An enthusiastic, calm person is needed to support pupils' learning and development in collaboration with other teachers and support staff. A passion for education, willingness to learn, coupled with good interpersonal skills and a desire to make a difference and help children believe in themselves to achieve their potential are the main attributes required.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience of working with pupils or be keen to learn on the job.
  • Be a creative, enthusiastic and energetic practitioner and a real team player.
  • Communicate with pupils, staff and parents effectively, both verbally and in a written form.
  • Be someone who can use agreed teaching and learning strategies consistently, yet also respond to educational needs in the 'here and now' to enhance learning opportunities within a lesson.

Information about the School

Our pupils are aged 3 – 11, ranging from Nursery to Year 6, and mainly live in the area surrounding the school.

At Dilkes, we want our children to be happy, confident and to share a passion for learning. We help them to achieve highly and make outstanding progress.

Our bespoke curriculum is carefully planned to enable us to teach all the National Curriculum subjects in a creative and inspiring way.
