Salary: Pro-rata starting from £18,451 per annum (FTE Grade 3/SSP7 £25,614)
About the Role
New Horizons School in St Leonards-on-Sea is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is innovative, enthusiastic, and empathetic towards children with SEN.
Responsibilities
- Enjoys being part of a tutor team that supports pupils to learn inside and outside of the classroom.
- Understands the benefits of a bespoke curriculum for vulnerable, hard to reach children.
- Effectively manages pupils in the classroom and outdoors in a range of contexts.
- Secures a range of coaching qualifications and outdoor skills as part of personal CPD.
- Reflects on their own practice to improve the outcomes for pupils.
Requirements
- A highly skilled communicator.
- Prepared to manage pupils with a range of complex needs.
- Can inspire and motivate pupils to want to learn new skills.
- Calm, consistent, and has high expectations.
- Follows the School structure, policies, and procedures with the highest level of consistency.

Working Pattern
Two days per week, Monday to Friday, from at least 08:30/45am to 15/15:15pm, term time only. Working hours to be discussed at interview and agreed upon successful appointment.
