We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Lift Rawlett. You will work closely with teachers and other colleagues to support students with their learning, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their independence and build their confidence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with young people and eager to play an important role in their education and development.

The role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
You will support students both within the classroom and through targeted individual and small-group interventions, adapting your approach to meet different learning needs, including SEND.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting students in accessing lesson content and achieving their learning objectives.
- Helping students develop independent learning skills and confidence in managing their own learning.
- Working alongside teachers to support the planning and delivery of high-quality learning.
- Delivering individual and small-group interventions under the direction of teaching staff.
- Supporting students with SEND and adapting support to meet individual needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour and consistently supporting the school's expectations and policies.
- Supporting students' social, emotional and mental health, wellbeing and personal development.
- Monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral colleagues, the SENDCO and parents/carers.
- Helping to create a stimulating, inclusive and safe learning environment.
- Supporting the preparation of resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supporting students on trips and other activities outside of school where required.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team. You should have a basic understanding of how children learn and develop, or a willingness to learn, alongside a commitment to supporting the welfare and safeguarding of young people.

You will need GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards the relevant Functional Skills qualifications.
If you do not already hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, you should have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for the role.

This is a 30-hour-per-week, fixed-term position until 31 August 2027, with an immediate start.
