Teaching Assistant

Danesfield Manor School, Walton-on-Thames

Start Date: September 2026

Term Time Only | Monday to Friday | 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours per week)

Located in Walton on Thames, Danesfield Manor School is a one form entry school educating boys and girls from the age of 2 – 11 years of age. With strong values and growth mindset approach to learning, we empower our pupils with excellent knowledge, extensive vocabulary and innate confidence. We believe that a values based education enriches our teaching and learning, allows our pupils to achieve beyond their own expectations and prepares them for their life-long journey beyond Danesfield.

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team from September 2026. The successful candidate should be passionate about children’s learning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in a primary school setting and is confident supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
  • Has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Has a patient, caring and positive approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning, wellbeing and personal development.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Is enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to creating a positive learning environment for all children.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
  • Training or experience in supporting children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia or Speech and Language needs.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 support or small group interventions in literacy and numeracy.

Lifeguard Qualification Opportunity

A key part of this role includes supporting our swimming provision. Applicants must be willing to undertake lifeguard training as part of their professional development. Candidates who already hold a current lifeguard qualification are particularly encouraged to apply.
