We are currently recruiting for a fantastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful secondary school in Barking and Dagenham, supporting students with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex additional needs.

The Teaching Assistant role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with secondary-aged students with ASD, SLD and communication needs. Some students are non-verbal and require support with communication, learning, social interaction and emotional regulation.

You will provide small-group and individual support, helping students access their learning and feel confident within the school environment.
Some students can become disregulated, so the successful Teaching Assistant will need to be calm, patient and confident supporting children through challenging moments.
You don't need to have experience with every aspect of SEN, but experience working with ASD, SLD, complex needs or challenging behaviour would be highly desirable.

- Calm and confident when students become dysregulated
- Passionate about supporting young people with SEN
- Comfortable working with students who may be non-verbal
- Able to provide both individual and small-group support
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- A strong team player
