Hours: 31.75 hours per week
Contract: Permanent. Required from 5 October 2026

8.30am – 3.15pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch).


About the Role

Yoxford and Peasenhall Primary School are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, experienced, and approachable Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact across the primary phase.

We are seeking an individual who combines professionalism with warmth and enthusiasm, and who is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The role will involve working closely with class teachers to support learning and development, and may include providing one-to-one support for individual pupils, helping them to overcome barriers and flourish both academically and personally. You will be committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrates excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to establish positive connections with children, colleagues, and families
  • Is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential, regardless of the challenges they may face
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with both children and adults, verbally and in writing
  • Has experience working with children across all age groups within a school environment
  • Can support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs and varying abilities
  • Understands and adheres to school policies, procedures, and GDPR requirements
  • Confidently promotes positive behaviour and effectively implements a variety of behaviour management strategies
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in school and Trust CPD opportunities
  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and best practice

Essential Qualifications

  • Grade C/4+ level of Numeracy and Literacy
  • Basic level of computer literacy

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant HLTA or TA qualification, or relevant experience

Line Manager:

Academy Head.


Training:

Induction program provided and a bespoke package of CPD will be arranged as required.
