Supply Teaching Assistant (Day:to:Day) : Barnstaple

Are you looking for a flexible role that fits seamlessly around your life? We are recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support local primary, secondary, and SEN schools across Barnstaple and the surrounding areas. This is your chance to make a real difference in the classroom while enjoying the freedom of a schedule you control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support across the classroom during standard school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
  • Assist the lead teacher with classroom setup, managing activities, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils needing additional academic support in core subjects.
  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, or mobility needs where required.
  • Ensure student safety and strictly follow school safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (schools, nurseries, sports coaching, care, or youth work).
  • A friendly, confident, and adaptable nature: ready to step into new classrooms and engage with pupils quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness for one).
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is a plus, but hands-on experience is equally valued.

  • Fair Pay: Guaranteed GBP92.56 - GBP95.00 per day (paid weekly via PAYE).
