Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs?

Reeson Education are seeking a reliable and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and supportive educational setting in the Sheffield (S2) area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, experience in education, or a genuine passion for helping young learners thrive.

About The Role

You will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, helping them access learning, promoting independence, and supporting their emotional, behavioural, and academic development. You will encourage participation, follow structured support plans, and help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Support: Provide focused academic and emotional assistance based on individual needs.
  • Daily Learning Assistance: Support with class tasks, adapted resources, and small-group activities.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Support: Use supportive strategies to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and resilience.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record key observations and communicate updates to teaching staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.

To Succeed As An SEN TA, You Will Need

  • Previous experience in a school, childcare, or support setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in following learning and behaviour plans.
  • A proactive, flexible, and encouraging approach to supporting learners.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness through Reeson Education.
