SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Brent, North West London

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Monday–Friday, Full-time

Salary: £92.63 - £115 per day


Horizon Teachers is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs to join a supportive school team on a full-time basis with an ASAP start.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills
  • Implementing individual learning and support plans
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom

Previous experience working with SEN in a school or educational setting is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant childcare, support work or care experience may also be considered.
