A forward-thinking primary school in Lambeth is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their SEMH provision from September 2026.

This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs within a specialist unit attached to the mainstream school. The successful Teaching Assistant will help pupils access learning, regulate behaviour and build confidence through consistent support and structured routines.

Alongside classroom support, the Teaching Assistant will deliver targeted phonics and maths interventions to help pupils close learning gaps and re-engage positively with education.

The school has a strong inclusion team, clear behaviour systems and a supportive leadership structure. Staff within the provision work collaboratively to create a calm and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe and supported.

Key Responsibilities For The Teaching Assistant Include
