Are you a Male Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour?
We are recruiting for a fantastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful secondary school in Barking and Dagenham from September 2026.
- You'll be working with teenage male students with ASD and SLD, supporting them both in the classroom and out in the community.
- This is a really varied role, with students taking part in vocational courses, entrepreneurship and employability skills, as well as regular trips into the community.
The role:
- Temp to Permanent role after 1 term
- Monday to Friday, school hours
- September 2026 start
- Barking and Dagenham
- Supporting teenage male students with ASD and SLD
- Vocational and practical learning
- Community trips and activities
- Strong behaviour management required

The school
This is a brilliant new: build school with excellent facilities and a genuinely lovely staff team. The environment is supportive, friendly, and sociable - including Friday drinks for staff.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will be confident managing behaviour, calm under pressure, and able to build strong relationships with teenage boys. A good sense of humour is essential.
Previous experience working with SEN, ASD, or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
