Leader Education Recruiting Teaching Assistants for SEN Pupils
Leader Education are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across Stalybridge and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and caring individuals who are interested in supporting children and young people within education, including pupils who may have additional learning, behavioural or communication needs.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working specifically with SEN is not always essential. We welcome applications from people who have experience working with children or young people in schools, care, youth work, sports coaching, support work or similar environments.
This is a great opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants and SEN support staff, as well as individuals looking to build their experience and develop a career within education.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to help pupils engage with learning and get the most from their education. Depending on the placement, you may support pupils with a range of SEN, learning difficulties, communication needs or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
