About The Role
The Education Network Birmingham seeks a Teaching Assistant for a full-time post in South Birmingham, paying £92 to £109 daily. This alternative provision role involves delivering tailored 1-2-1 support and mentoring to a Key Stage 4 pupil who holds an EHCP and requires close supervision. Working alongside the SEND and pastoral teams, the successful candidate will help a student who finds mainstream education difficult to access. Applicants should be Level 3 qualified with prior experience of SEMH needs or challenging behaviour. Key skills include patience, strong communication, and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people. This position suits someone committed to helping pupils re-engage with learning.
Job Role
- Working as a Teaching Assistant on a dedicated 1-2-1 basis for a Key Stage 4 student with SEMH needs.
- Providing consistent support to a male student throughout the school day.
- Supporting the student to access lessons and engage with learning.
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
- Supporting the student to manage barriers to learning.
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
- Providing individualised support based on the student's needs.
- Helping the student develop confidence, independence and resilience.
- Supporting the student with social and emotional development.
- Maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
- Following school policies relating to safeguarding, behaviour and pupil welfare.

Requirements
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant opportunity, you must have previous Teaching Assistant experience and hold either a Level 3 qualification or a degree.
