Teaching Assistant | East Midlands Education Trust
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them to achieve their full potential.
Working alongside teachers and other support staff, the successful candidate will provide support to pupils both within and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with their learning and helping them to make progress.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups under the direction of teaching staff.
- Supporting pupils who may have additional learning needs.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and preparation of resources.
- Providing support with reading, literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities.
- Supervising pupils during lessons, breaktimes and other activities as required.
- Supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
- Maintaining appropriate records and communicating relevant information to teaching staff.
- Promoting the school's values, expectations and behaviour standards.
- Maintaining confidentiality and following safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Supporting homework clubs.

Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch)
- Please note one day will be a later finish in order to support homework club - this will be discussed at the interview process if successful.

Previous experience working with children or young people would be desirable, although we would welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine commitment to supporting pupils.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
