1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant : Primary School

Are you a dedicated and adaptable educator looking to make a meaningful impact? We are currently seeking a professional and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support within a mainstream primary school. This role is ideal for an individual committed to fostering an inclusive, structured, and supportive environment for primary-aged pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a student, ensuring their academic and routine needs are met throughout the school day.
  • Adapt curriculum-based activities to align with the pupil's specific learning requirements.
  • Implement personalised strategies, such as visual schedules and sensory aids, to promote emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Assist in building the student's confidence, self-esteem, and social communication skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and external specialists to track progress and refine support plans.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting primary-aged children with special educational needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to behaviour management and instructional support.
  • Superior communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and carers.
  • Possession of an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness.
  • Relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are considered a valuable asset.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: GBP92.56 - GBP95.00 per day.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (term time only).
  • Flexible placement options ranging from daily supply to long-term assignments.
