The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils both academically and socially. You'll help create a positive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing one-to-one support or working with small groups of up to six pupils.
- Supporting teaching and learning throughout the school day.
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and learning resources.
- Monitoring pupil progress and sharing updates with teachers and other professionals.
- Supervising pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.
- Supporting behaviour management strategies and promoting positive engagement.
- Building strong, positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and successful learning outcomes.
- Assisting with classroom activities, including setting and marking work where appropriate.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a good standard of education, ideally to A-Level, including GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
- Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
- Has experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within an educational setting.
- Is confident supporting behaviour management and promoting positive outcomes.
- Is willing to take on additional responsibilities within the school where appropriate.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- Is willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting employment.
