Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and develop their confidence? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join Lift Hockley.

About The Role

As a Teaching Assistant at Lift Hockley, you will work closely with teachers to help pupils access learning, develop their independence and achieve their potential.

You will get to know pupils' individual learning needs, including specific SEND needs, and provide the right support to help them take part fully in lessons. You will also deliver individual and small-group interventions, promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social, emotional and mental wellbeing, including personal care where required.

Working alongside teachers, the SENDCO, pastoral colleagues and families, you will play an important part in creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils to access learning, including those with specific SEND needs
  • Help pupils develop confidence and independent learning skills
  • Deliver targeted individual and small-group interventions
  • Support teachers with learning, assessment and monitoring pupils' progress
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and an inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards the relevant Functional Skills qualifications
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this
  • An understanding of how children learn and develop, or a willingness to learn
  • Good communication, teamwork and IT skills, or a willingness to develop these
  • A patient, calm, resilient and empathetic approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion
