Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding, full-year role starting immediately?
We are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant 3-form entry primary school in the heart of Newham. You will work closely with Year 5 class teachers to support pupils' academic growth, boost engagement, and maintain a positive classroom environment as students prepare for their final year of primary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy to accelerate progress.
- Support the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and behaviour across a large 3-form entry year group.
- Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs, including those with SEN and EAL.
- Assist with classroom preparation, resource creation, and tracking pupil engagement.

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- DBS: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (due to the immediate start).
- Experience: Proven prior experience working within Key Stage 2 (KS2) in a UK primary school.
- Availability: Available for an immediate start and committed for the full academic year.
Desirable Criteria
- Strong subject knowledge in the Year 5 curriculum (specifically KS2 Maths and English).
- Previous experience supporting SEN or EAL pupils.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
