We believe that every young person has the right to be an individual, to know they matter, have a voice, feel safe and confident enough to progress through the world in a way which makes them smile.

We are all rubbish at lots of things, let’s concentrate on finding the things we are great at!

Your role

The classroom-based Teaching Assistant will work as part of a dedicated team supporting KS4 (Key Stage 4) learners within a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting. Class sizes will typically be no more than six young people, enabling highly individualised support and strong, positive relationships to be developed.

The role requires a nurturing, consistent and emotionally aware approach to supporting young people who may have a range of complex educational, social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that each learner feels safe, understood, respected and able to engage in education.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A key aspect of the role will be understanding and implementing the requirements of individual EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), individual support plans, risk assessments and other relevant documentation. The Teaching Assistant will contribute to removing barriers to learning and supporting each learner to make meaningful academic, personal and social progress.

The role will involve supporting learners in both an academic and pastoral capacity, including their preparation for qualifications, collection of evidence, development of employability and life skills, and progression towards appropriate post-16 destinations.

What You will need

You will have experience of working with young people in education, care, youth work or a similar setting, together with a genuine commitment to supporting young people with SEMH and/or additional needs.

You will be patient, consistent and empathetic, able to build positive professional relationships and remain calm when situations are challenging. An understanding of SEND and the purpose of an EHCP is essential. Experience in an SEMH, alternative provision, specialist or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) setting would be particularly welcome.
