Teaching Assistant - Primary School
Haringey, N15 (commutable from Tottenham, Seven Sisters, Stamford Hill, Wood Green and Edmonton)
£110-£120 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Haringey this September.
This is a general classroom Teaching Assistant role, ideal for someone who enjoys being actively involved in pupils' learning throughout the school day. You'll work alongside the class teacher, supporting lessons, leading small groups and helping children build the confidence and independence needed to make strong progress.
About The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils during English, Maths and wider curriculum lessons
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce teacher-led learning
- Deliver targeted reading, phonics and numeracy interventions
- Provide additional support to pupils who are working below age-related expectations
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence
- Help prepare resources and maintain an engaging classroom environment
- Monitor pupil understanding and provide useful feedback to the class teacher
- Support pupils with additional learning needs where required

Ideal Candidate
- Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a UK primary school is highly desirable
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum
- Confident leading small-group activities and interventions
- Strong spoken and written English
- Positive, reliable and able to take initiative within the classroom
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils and teaching staff
- Available full-time and committed to a long-term placement
Experienced Teaching Assistants are encouraged to apply, although graduates with strong child-related experience who are keen to develop a career in education will also be considered.
