We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our team at our school in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Your Role

You will be a self-motivated and dedicated team player who can assist in delivering our curriculum with a pupil-centred approach. You will work collaboratively with our other departments to encourage our children to participate in education and reach their qualification goals. This will involve working in groups and one-on-one with children who live within our Pebbles homes or attend on a day placement basis.

What We Offer You

  • A salary of £24,848.72 per annum plus benefits.
  • Annual leave is in line with national entitlement and reflects the relevant local authority's annual leave.

  • Your hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Essential Qualities We Look For

  • Strong communication skills.
  • An empathetic and sympathetic nature.
  • Enthusiasm for inclusive education.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader team/ business but is also comfortable working independently
  • Commitment to continued personal development
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A full UK manual driving licence

The Desirable Qualities We Look for

  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches to adverse childhood experiences, mental health, attachment, therapeutic parenting, etc., which can be applied to everyday practice.
  • Experience in supporting young people with Additional Support Needs or the desire to undertake professional learning to gain skills in this area.
  • Experience in Therapeutic Parenting practices
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Current enhanced DBS.
