Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our vibrant and friendly team at Epworth, part of The Isle Education Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn a salary and gain a level 3 qualification. The right candidates will provide 1:1 or 1:2 support to children with Special Education Needs.
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work includes:
- Provide 1:1 or 1:2 support to children with SEN
- Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the organisation and promote diversity, inclusion, equality and acceptance of all learners
- Implement safeguarding policies and safe practice
- Work in partnership and liaise with other professionals and parents/carers
- Reflect on their own practice and identify appropriate professional development opportunities
- Understand the specific needs of learners and use strategies to support all learners
- Promote engagement and teach learning behaviours
- Establish positive relationships with learners and promote positive behaviours
- Support the social, emotional, mental health, well-being and personal care of all learners
- Deliver individual and small group teaching
- Support the development of a stimulating and safe learning environment
- Support or lead enrichment activities

Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Training provider DN COLLEGES GROUP. Training course Teaching assistant (level 3).
Requirements
- Essential qualifications: GCSE in: Maths and English (grade 4 or equivalent)
- Skills: Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience
- Other requirements: You must be able to travel to and from work and college.
