Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship – Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe
Are you passionate about making a difference with children as they embark on their educational journey? We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice in our welcoming primary school.
Key Details
- Salary: £8.58 increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months
- Working hours: Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and until 4:30 pm on a Wednesday (CPD afternoon) 33.5 hours per week
- Location: Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe, Sutcliffe Avenue, Grimsby, DN33 1AW
Apprenticeship Details
- Duration: 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)
- Learning Delivery: All learning is delivered online/remote.

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you’ll be an essential part of the classroom team, helping young learners grow and thrive every day. You’ll support both the teacher and pupils, while developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for a successful career in education.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting classroom activities and supervising children
- Assisting pupils with their learning and development
- Providing additional help to children who need it most
- Learning classroom behaviour strategies and teaching techniques
- Helping to plan and prepare sessions
- Encouraging pupil independence, inclusion, and engagement in learning
- Supporting children’s emotional, social, and physical well-being
Skills & Qualities:
- A genuine passion for working with children
- Friendly, kind, and caring personality
- Team player with a can-do attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally

Desirable:
- Previous experience working with children (not essential)
- Confidence in your ability to support learning
Entry Requirements:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grades A*-C / 9-4
- Successful applicants will need to complete an Enhanced DBS check
