Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship – Two Rivers High School

Key Details
- Salary: £8 per hour (increases to NMW after 12 months)
- Working hours: Monday to Friday (Hours TBC) 30 hours per week
- Location: Torc Campus, Silverlink Road Glascote Heath, Staffordshire, B77 2HJ
Apprenticeship Details
- Duration: 16 months expected duration to complete
- Qualification: Working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
- Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)
- Delivery Method: All learning is delivered online/remote.

Role Responsibilities
- Assisting with the general pastoral care of students during the school day
- Developing an understanding of the learning needs of students and using this knowledge to support them to become independent learners in the classroom
- Taking into account a student’s learning needs and ensuring their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations and use of equipment and materials
- Monitoring student’s responses to learning activities and progress towards targets, recording achievement and feedback to teachers
- Assisting in the implementation and tracking of student targets
- Providing support for student’s emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour and demonstrating high expectations, in line with the schools Behaviour Policy
- Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person

About the Employer
Two Rivers School is a generic co-educational special school for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The High School caters for students aged between 11 and 19 years of age. Pupils have wide ranging abilities with some exhibiting learning difficulties and/or delay in their learning. Whilst it is impossible to generalise on the nature of these needs, they can necessitate creative approaches to teaching styles and delivery, classroom management and climate.
