Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Fullhurst Community College
Fullhurst Community College are looking for an experienced teaching assistant providing support and learning for pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs), such as those, severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
Apprenticeship Overview:
- Salary: £8 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working Week: Monday to Friday, shifts to be confirmed
- Hours: 32.5 hours per week
- Duration: 18 months
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant SEND Pathway Apprenticeship standard qualification
- Training: Online training supported by our dedicated tutor
- Location: Imperial Avenue, Leicester, LE3 1AH
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Support teachers with the learning, development and education of pupils.
- Assist with learning activities, pupil care and behaviour management.
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND and help overcome barriers to learning.
- Support pupils with personal care, hygiene, eating, social, emotional and health needs.
- Assist with medical care during trips and educational activities.
- Help prepare and deliver classroom learning activities.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
- Follow all college policies, including safeguarding, GDPR, equality and diversity, and health and safety.

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant SEND Apprenticeship standard qualification.
Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
