Role Description

This is a temporary, on-site Teaching Assistant role based in Warrington. The Teaching Assistant will support classroom teachers in delivering lessons, helping learners with classwork and homework, and reinforcing understanding in core subjects such as mathematics and literacy. The role involves:

  • Supervising learners during lessons and breaks
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Contributing to the overall educational and social development of children

The Teaching Assistant will collaborate closely with teachers and other staff, communicate effectively with learners, and follow safeguarding and school procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Assistant Teaching skills, including classroom support, small-group instruction, and one-to-one learner assistance.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with learners, teachers, and school staff in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education, with an understanding of classroom routines, learning objectives, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Candidates should possess confidence in Mathematics to support learners with basic numeracy and curriculum-related tasks.
  • Candidates should possess experience working with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a commitment to learner wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a teaching assistant certificate, childcare or education-related training, or equivalent experience are beneficial.
  • Knowledge of UK school policies, safeguarding procedures, and special educational needs (SEN) support is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow guidance from teaching staff, work collaboratively within a team, and adapt to different classroom environments is desirable.
