Are you passionate about Early Years and helping young children get the very best start to their education?
We are looking for a warm, nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Early Years team for 30 hours per week, term-time only, including INSET days.
Your new school
Lift Barton Hill is a welcoming and inclusive primary school, graded ‘Good' by Ofsted, with an ‘Outstanding' Early Years provision. We are committed to ensuring that every child has a happy, active and successful primary education in an environment that is caring, supportive and nurturing.
Our Early Years provision includes Pebbles, our purpose-built nursery for 2 and 3-year-olds; Shells pre-school for 3–4-year-olds; and two Reception classes, Coral and Starfish. Shells, Coral and Starfish work closely together, sharing a rich outdoor environment where children can learn through play, discovery and exploration.
We believe every child is unique, capable and full of potential. Our Early Years provision encourages children to be curious, independent and confident learners. We believe that children learn through play, exploration, meaningful relationships and engaging experiences, supported by carefully planned environments that give them the freedom to follow their own interests and ideas, while being supported by knowledgeable and responsive adults.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
