About This Role

Hayeswood First School is looking for a Teaching Assistant G5 to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?

Actual Salary £8,921 - £9,063 per annum (Grade 5 pay award pending)

  • This job is Part Time - Term Time Only for 15 hours per week and 39 weeks per year. Working pattern to be agreed.
  • It is offered on a Temporary basis until 31/08/26
  • Approximate start date as soon as possible

Hayeswood First School is seeking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant (Fixed-Term). This role will involve supporting the SEND needs of pupils, you will be supporting on both a 1:1 basis and in a group to pupils with disability, learning difficulty, or behavioural problems. Please see the job description and person specification for more detailed skills, knowledge, and experience required.

  • This role is offered on a Fixed-Term basis until 22 July 2026 for 15 hours per week, 5 days per week which may be subject to change according to business need.
  • Closing date: 10th June 2026

This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
