Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) - Fixed Term Contract (EHCP funded 1:1 support)

We will review the contract in 12 months’ time and would hope to extend this, subject to sufficient EHCP funding.

20 hours per week / (To include 5 afternoons per week)

£12,548 - £12,747 per annum

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our staffing team at Finstall First School, primarily to work in KS1. The majority of the role will be to provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate will be able to build a positive, trusting relationship with the child while working collaboratively with parents/carers, school staff, and other relevant professionals.

This is a specialist 1:1 position, supporting the child to engage fully with teaching and learning, participate in all aspects of school life, and develop increasing independence.

The role is term-time only and involves working 20 hours per week, including attendance on specified INSET days. We are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements and welcome discussions about alternative working patterns where these can meet the needs of both the child and the school. (This would need to include afternoons sessions Monday – Friday until 2.45pm)

Contract Type

This is a fixed-term post that is linked to the provision of additional support required under a pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), together with the corresponding funding allocated to the school.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role has been created specifically to provide dedicated 1:1 support for an individual pupil and will remain in place for as long as this EHCP-funded provision is required. The contract will therefore end when the need for this additional support no longer exists, such as if the pupil leaves the school, the EHCP is reviewed and amended resulting in reduced support requirements, or the associated funding is withdrawn.
