Role Description
This temporary on-site Teaching Assistant role is based in Wigan and supports classroom learning and student engagement. The Teaching Assistant will help teachers deliver lessons, provide one-to-one and small group support, and assist with activities that reinforce learning, particularly in key subjects such as mathematics and literacy.

Daily responsibilities include:
- Preparing learning materials
- Helping maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
- Supporting pupils with varying needs and abilities
The role also involves working closely with teaching staff to implement lesson plans, monitoring student progress, and promoting inclusive practices in line with school policies.
Qualifications
- Assistant Teaching and Education Skills
- Experience supporting classroom instruction and learning activities
- Communication Skills
- Clear verbal and written communication with pupils, educators, and caregivers
- Mathematics Skills
- Ability to support learners across a range of abilities in numeracy-related tasks
- Working With Children Skills
- Maintaining safeguarding standards and promoting positive behavior
- Relevant Qualifications
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, or equivalent school-based experience, are beneficial
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum, classroom management strategies, and special educational needs (SEN) support is advantageous
- Other Requirements
- Ability to follow teacher direction, use initiative when appropriate, and work effectively as part of a diverse school team
