Teaching Assistant: Day:to:Day Supply (Primary Schools)
Are you looking for flexible classroom work across Plymouth that fits your schedule while making a real impact? We are seeking adaptable, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to provide day:to:day supply cover and 1:1 support across mainstream primary schools in Plymouth and the surrounding local areas.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide flexible, 1:1 or small:group support to primary:aged pupils with Special Educational Needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
- Adapt classroom activities on the fly to match individual learning styles and capabilities.
- Use practical strategies, such as visual schedules and sensory tools, to support emotional regulation and keep pupils engaged.
- Help build pupils' confidence, social communication skills, and independence in the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCos, and school staff to maintain a consistent environment.

Qualifications And Requirements
- Prior experience working with primary:aged children with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs).
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to managing behaviour and supporting learning.
- Strong communication skills to liaise quickly with local school staff.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness).
- Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications, or background experience in care/youth work, are highly valued.

What We Offer
- Pay: GBP92.56 : GBP95.00 per day (paid weekly via PAYE).
- Hours: Standard school hours (approx. 8:30 AM : 3:30 PM, term time only).
- Flexibility: Complete control over your availability: work as many or as few days a week as you like.
- Variety: Gain broad experience across a diverse range of primary schools throughout Plymouth.
