SEN Teaching Assistant : Lambeth September 2026

Location: Lambeth (near Brixton)

Start Date: 28th of September 2026

Contract: Full:time Long:Term

Pay: GBP100:GBP120 per day (dependent on experience)

SEN Teaching Assistant Required for High:Needs Support Role

A welcoming and highly inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist support team from 28th of September.

This rewarding SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve providing one:to:one support for a pupil with complex learning and communication needs within a mainstream primary setting. The pupil requires a high level of adult support throughout the school day, including assistance with personal care and intimate care.

The school is looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant who can build a strong, trusting relationship while supporting the pupils learning, communication, wellbeing and independence.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, You Will

  • Provide dedicated one:to:one support throughout the school day
  • Support a pupil with complex SEN and high levels of need
  • Assist with intimate care and personal care routines
  • Adapt learning activities to maximise engagement and participation
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
  • Promote communication, independence and emotional wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate

The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant Will

  • Have experience supporting children with complex or high:needs SEN
  • Be comfortable providing intimate care when required
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy and professionalism
  • Remain calm and positive in challenging situations
  • Be committed to helping every child reach their potential

Experience in SEN schools, ARPs, specialist provisions, care settings or similar support roles would be highly advantageous.
