Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant for a long-term supply placement at a specialist secondary school in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
The school supports young people who may have SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs, providing a structured, supportive environment for students who may have experienced barriers to accessing mainstream education.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor or Behaviour Support Worker who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and wants to work in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and/or SEMH needs
- Support students to access lessons and the wider curriculum
- Help develop students' confidence, engagement and independence
- Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
- Support behaviour using calm, positive and nurturing approaches
- Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral and support team
- Help create a safe, structured and encouraging learning environment

About You
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Support Worker or similar
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH or additional needs is desirable
- Patient, resilient and confident when supporting young people with challenging behaviour
- A positive and nurturing approach to supporting students
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Available for full-time, long-term work
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
