Carrwood Primary School Level 3 Apprentice Opportunity

Carrwood Primary School is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring, and committed Level 3 Apprentice to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team.

What you'll do at work:

Under the guidance of the class teacher, the successful candidate will be involved in supporting the education, personal, and social development of pupils and establishing positive relationships with our pupils.

  • Support to implement learning activities working with individual or small groups of pupils.
  • Support to assist the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning.
  • Support in producing learning resources.
  • Support to assist in pupil supervision.
  • Support in monitoring and recording of pupil progress and developmental needs.
  • Reporting pupil progress to line managers.
  • Work within the school’s policy and procedures.
  • Working to the relevant apprenticeship standard/framework and completing work in a timely manner.
  • To the accountabilities above, the apprentice may be required to undertake any of the duties normally associated with a Teaching Assistant to support with their training and development.
  • Raising all concerns regarding the behaviour, progress, or well-being or safety of pupils.
  • Actively promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people by adhering to the school’s safeguarding and associated policies.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of legal requirements, national policies, and guidance on the safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Know how to identify abuse or neglect and follow safeguarding procedures.

What you'll learn:

  • Apply strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners.
  • Adapt communication strategies for the audience and context.
  • Apply behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policy.
  • Adapt resources to support all learners.
  • Communicate with teachers to ensure clarity of the TA’s role.
  • Apply teaching strategies to deliver learning activities or interventions.
  • Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding, and health & safety.
  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up-to-date technology safely to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.
