Teaching Assistant & MDSA

Salary: TA Grade D depending on experience (£26,016 - £26,874 pro-rata) MDSA Grade B (£25,614 pro-rata)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 17.5 hours per week, 8:30am – 12:00 midday pm, Monday to Friday, plus 5 hours MDSA 12:00 – 13:00 term-time only

About the Role

Lea and Garsdon CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a class setting. This role may involve supporting small groups of pupils as well as providing individual support as required. In addition, we would like the appointment to include 5 hours MDSA to supervise lunchtime play and be part of promoting our fabulous OPAL provision at the school while supporting positive behavior.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Have significant experience working with pupils.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver targeted support through intervention programmes.
• Support the inclusive ethos of the school, ensuring every child has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
• Support children’s self-esteem, inclusion, and behavioral development.
• Maintain high expectations of behavior and support children to make positive choices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
