Post: Teaching Assistant
Location: Oasis Academy Connaught
Salary: OCL Scale 4-8 (£25,185 - £26,824 FTE) | Actual Salary £19,613 - £20,890
Working Pattern: Monday 8:20am - 4:20pm, Tuesday to Friday 8:20am - 3:20pm
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Term Time (salary pro rata)
Closing Date: 27/09/2026
Interview Date: 01/10/2026
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS with Barred List Check

Oasis Academy Connaught is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people by supporting teaching, learning and inclusion across the academy.
Working under the direction of teachers, you will help students achieve their full potential, supporting both academic progress and personal development in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
About The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support high-quality teaching and learning for individuals and small groups of pupils.
- Help adapt learning materials and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assist teachers in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
- Support pupils with SEND, including contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Promote students' social, emotional and personal development.
- Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning environments.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits and other activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers and external professionals.
- Support examination invigilation and academy activities as required.

Essential
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and SEND practice.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to supporting children's learning, wellbeing and achievement.
Desirable
- A First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
