Teaching Assistant: KS1 and KS2 Intervention Support
A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Lambeth is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026.
This varied Teaching Assistant role combines one-to-one support with the delivery of targeted small-group interventions. You'll work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who require additional academic support, helping them build confidence in reading, writing and maths while removing barriers to learning.
The school has a strong focus on early intervention and personalised support, with a collaborative staff team committed to ensuring every child reaches their potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, You Will
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs
- Deliver small-group interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy
- Support pupils with SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs
- Reinforce classroom learning and adapt activities where required
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate
The School Is Looking For a Teaching Assistant Who
- Has experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting
- Is confident supporting pupils both individually and in small groups
- Has strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Is patient, proactive and able to use their own initiative
- Is committed to helping every child achieve both academically and socially
Experience delivering intervention programmes or supporting pupils with SEND would be highly beneficial.
