Hanson Recruitment is looking to recruit full-time Teaching assistant with experience of working with young people and children with difficulty coping with emotional and social changes. This is an exciting position available for an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to providing support directly to the pupil on a one-to-one basis. School is an established large SEN school having multiple sites across Bristol and some areas of South Glos.
Responsibilities
- Providing both dedicated one to one support to individual pupils both in class and outside the classroom from locations in Bristol such as libraries, schools other sites
- Supporting the students academic progress and development and reporting to the teacher and SENCOs
- Collaborating with the classroom teachers and other staff members to provide a positive and inclusive learning environment and keep track record of their development both emotional and academically.
- Assisting with the student's behaviour management and social-emotional development
- Following all school behaviour, safeguarding and Health and Safety policies
Qualifications & attributes
- Experience working with children
- Must have a car and be willing to have the right business insurance to travel with the pupils in your car
- Good understanding of the SEMH and Secondary curriculum
- Good organisational and communication skills
- The ability to support a programme of extra-curricular activities
- Ability to work between 8:30am to 4:30pm during the week term-time only

The role of a Teaching Assistant will enable you to use both your academic and inter-personal skills to support some of the most disadvantaged pupils in Education.
This is a highly rewarding role that suits a HLTA, Teaching Assistant and or Cover Supervisors who have that passion for education and watching young people achieve but are keen on some time out of the day to rigours of class teaching.
