SEN Teaching Assistant - Warwick
Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
Pay: £100-£110 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time | Long-term
Start Date: September 2026
Luma Education Recruitment is working with a specialist education setting in the Warwick area that is looking to appoint a caring, reliable and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for September 2026.
We have a number of opportunities available across the setting, including General Teaching Assistant, PE & Sports and English-focused support roles, making this a great opportunity for candidates with different skills, interests and experience.
You will become an important member of the school's support team, helping pupils access their learning, develop confidence and independence, and make positive progress.
The Opportunity
As a Teaching Assistant, Your Responsibilities May Include
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Working alongside teachers to help deliver engaging and accessible learning
- Providing additional support to pupils who require help accessing the curriculum
- Supporting pupils with their English, literacy and communication skills
- Helping deliver and support PE, sports and physical activities
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
- Supporting classroom routines and day-to-day learning
- Helping pupils participate fully in lessons and activities
- Working closely with teaching and support staff to meet individual pupil needs

What We're Looking For
We Are Keen To Hear From Candidates Who Have
- Experience working with children or young people
- Previous experience in a school, SEN, care, youth work, sports or similar environment
- A genuine interest in helping children and young people reach their potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and supportive approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- The flexibility to adapt to different pupils and learning activities
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience or qualifications in PE, sports, English, literacy or other curriculum areas would be particularly welcomed, although relevant qualifications are not essential.
Experience, attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils are equally important.
An Enhanced DBS will be required before commencing the role. Candidates who are already registered with the DBS Update Service are encouraged to apply.
