Role: Teaching Assistant (Level 2)

Location: Temple Grafton C of E Primary School
Salary: Band F NJC Scale 7-11
Hours: 6.5 hours per day with 1 hour unpaid lunch
Working weeks: 39 (Term Time Only)
Days a week: 2 days (Thursday/ Friday)
Closing date: Friday 16th October
Anticipated start date: ASAP
Contract Type: Fixed Term
End date of Fixed Term contract: 21st July 2027

About the Role:

Temple Grafton C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a part-time Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide support for all children including those with specific needs. The role will also involve working with small groups within the classroom as part of wider learning activities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Assisting in the delivery of lessons/sessions and interact with the teacher and pupils as required.
  • Undertake agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses.

Your qualities will include

  • Being highly motivated, calm, patient, and able to adapt quickly to a range of situations.
  • Having Relevant Experience And/or Appropriate Qualifications.
  • Previous experience of supporting children with SEND would be an advantage.
  • Displaying commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.

As this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check. Our pre-employment process will also include Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks (where applicable); proof of qualifications (as specified in the person specification); section 128 checks (for those in management roles); medical fitness checks; identity and right to work checks. Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wraparound care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks.
