Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.
£95–£105 per day PAYE | Full-time | Immediate September Start | Potential Full Academic Year
About the Vacancies
Rising Hope Education has received two urgent Teaching Assistant vacancies with one of our primary school clients in Barking & Dagenham, following some last-minute staffing changes on 29 August.
The school's immediate requirement is initially expected to be 4–6 weeks, while they work through their longer-term staffing arrangements. However, for the right candidates, there is absolutely the opportunity for these positions to continue on a full-time basis for the remainder of the academic year.
We're therefore treating these as long-term opportunities and are particularly interested in candidates who would be happy to become part of the school team and commit for the academic year if offered the opportunity.
Role 1 - General Teaching Assistant / RWI Phonics
We're looking for a confident General Teaching Assistant with good primary-school experience and a working knowledge of Read Write Inc. (RWI) Phonics.
- Responsibilities:
- Support learning across the classroom.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups.
- Provide targeted phonics support where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Previous experience delivering or supporting RWI Phonics would be particularly valuable.
Role 2 - Pastoral & Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
We're also recruiting somebody for a more pastoral and behaviour-focused position.
- Responsibilities:
- Support children who are struggling within the classroom.
- Provide support in class or work with a child away from the classroom to help them regulate, reflect on what has happened, and successfully return to learning.
- One younger pupil currently requires a significant proportion of this support, although incidents are generally low-level rather than significantly challenging.
Requirements:
- Be calm, confident, and emotionally intelligent.
- Build strong relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Have good basic computer skills to log incidents.
- Be confident communicating with parents both face-to-face and over the telephone.
