Teaching & Learning Assistant
Permanent, Part-Time (32.5hrs Per Week), Term-Time Only (39 Weeks)
Salary: Scale 3, Point 6 - 8, £25,989 - £26,824 (Actual Salary: £19,855.35 - £20,493.28)
Starting Date: September 2026
The opportunity has arisen for a teaching and learning assistant within our successful, enthusiastic and talented learning support department.
Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1300 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

The learning support team play a big part in enabling students with additional needs to reach their full potential.
To start as soon as possible, we are looking for an outstanding practitioner. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inspirational and forward thinking. You will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further the standards of teaching and learning.

Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
