Job Description

The post holder will be required to provide a confidential secretarial and administrative service to the Salford Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing referrals, sending out appointment letters and mailshots
  • Dealing with all telephone calls and ensuring they get passed on in a timely manner
  • Requisitioning of stationery, maintenance of meeting rooms, and non-stock requisitioning
  • Overseeing the patient pathway, ensuring referrals, reviews, and appointments are processed within required timeframes
  • Providing a booking appointment service for Outpatients using the electronic patient record system
  • Ensuring liaison with service users and clinicians to see patients within appropriate timeframes
  • Ensuring an efficient administrative service, including minute taking and other general administrative duties
  • Directly negotiating appointment slots with clinicians to meet NHS Plan targets and standards
  • Typing all clinical correspondence
  • Coordinating and directing service user contact via telephone call, email, or letter
  • Greeting Service Users, Carers, and Other Visitors when required
  • Ensuring an effective and efficient booking service is provided in accordance with NHS Plan targets
  • Direct making of appointments according to booking and waiting time policies
  • Taking and typing of minutes for all team meetings and ad hoc meetings on request
