An Exciting Opportunity in Planned Care Nursing Administration
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Planned Care Nursing Administration Team. The successful candidate will work across sites to meet service needs (base location to be confirmed).
Responsibilities
The role involves a range of administrative duties, including:
- Data entry
- Managing appointments
- Answering telephone enquiries
- Providing a high standard of customer service to patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and partner organisations
Working closely with clinical colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of Planned Care Nursing services and supporting the delivery of an efficient and responsive administrative service.
Essential Skills and Qualities
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to learn, with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to delivering excellent patient care is essential.
Role Details
The post sits within a wider Integrated Community team supporting District Nursing, Bladder & Bowel, Frailty, and Tissue Viability Services.

The service operates seven days a week, including Bank Holidays. Weekend working is required on a rotational basis (currently 1 in 7 weekends), and staff are rostered to work two Bank Holidays per year. Cross-site working is an essential part of the role, therefore access to transport is required.
Core service hours are 08:00–18:00.
Tasks
You will be involved in a variety of tasks including:
- Inputting patient referrals into our electronic patient record system (SystmOne)
- Contacting patients by phone to confirm or schedule appointments
- Managing and coordinating appointment calendars
- Retrieving data as requested
- Maintaining and updating SystmOne as necessary
- Answering patient line phone calls
- Making outgoing calls to update patients on their District Nurse visits
- Organising patient information packets
- Managing the staff sickness phone for the service
- Onboarding for new starters (getting systems in place, uniform, and equipment)
- Healthroster input (including generating reports)
- Processing requisitions using NHS Supply Chain and Integra as directed
- Base days - stock management
