The UK Assemblies Team Needs a Team Connector (External Coordinator) within XR

This is a vital role. You will need a minimum of 3 years experience in communications or assemblies and deliberative democracy or collaborative working.

What Difference Will You Make?

The Team Connector is a vital role within XR. They support information 'flowing' throughout the movement will help the team to carry out its purpose, i.e.

  • XRUK has the knowledge and support it requires to promote our demand for a Citizens' Assembly on Climate and Ecological Justice.
  • XRUK, Local Groups, Regions and Nations have a broad understanding of the power of participatory democracy, and have the support they need to run community assemblies.

What Are We Looking For?

Essential Skills

  • Good team builder
  • Good organisational, planning and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new digital tools/platforms

Desirable Skills

  • An understanding of assemblies and participatory democracy

What Will You Be Doing?

XRUK Assemblies is a well-functioning, happy team within Extinction Rebellion UK. We are passionate about promoting assemblies to show how participatory democracy can put the power of decision making into the hands of ordinary people.

About The Role

We are looking for a Team Connector (External Coordinator) to represent the Assemblies' team within XR UK’s wider network. You’ll attend weekly meetings with Assemblies and Operations, share updates on upcoming campaigns, and identify where our team can best support other XR groups. You’ll also support the flow of information between Assemblies and other XR teams.

This is a flexible and collaborative role that can be shared between two people to reduce time commitment.

Role Requirements

  • Represent Assemblies at XRUK meetings.
  • Report back to the team on campaign opportunities and collaboration possibilities.
  • Manage information flow between our team and others.
  • Support Team Guides (Internal Coordinators) when necessary.
  • Act as the main point of contact for other XR groups wanting to connect with the Assemblies team.
