About The Role
As a Team Lead at Manna at Portobello, you will be the Shop Manager’s right hand and the role model for the team on shift. You will support the day-to-day running of the brand, taking responsibility for leading service, supervising team members, and maintaining high standards across people, product and presentation.
You will be hands-on, confident in the kitchen and on the floor, and trusted to step up in the Shop Manager’s absence. This role is about setting the pace, supporting the team, and ensuring every service runs smoothly, safely and in line with brand expectations.

As a Successful Team Lead, You Will
- Build expert knowledge of our menu, cooking techniques, ingredients and brand ethos, leading by example during service
- Ensure the team consistently delivers high food quality and responds confidently and positively to guest feedback
- Support the training and day-to-day development of the team, helping create a positive, high-performing culture while managing rotas and feedback
- Manage your section efficiently during busy service periods
- Adhere to all food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Take advantage of ongoing training and career development opportunities
We'd Love To Hear From You If You
- Bring 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead, Senior Chef or similar role within a fast-paced food environment
- Are confident leading teams during busy services and thrive in a hands-on operational role
- Have strong knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations and quality control standards
- Have experience supporting team development, training and performance management
- Understand stock control, labour management and the importance of cost efficiency within hospitality operations
- Bring Food Safety Level 3 certification
- Have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to learn and develop
- Bring an ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
- Are ready to bring your energy, creativity, and expertise to Manna!
